Job shop ERP vs. MRP software

Item-centric MRP (MRPeasy, Katana, Odoo) assumes you build known products from BOMs and plan material from demand. Job-centric ERP (ProShop, JobBOSS² (formerly E2), Fulcrum) assumes each order is quoted, routed and costed as its own job.

Mixed shops exist – most CNC shops have some repeat work. Ask: what percentage of revenue last year was a part number you'd made before? Mostly repeat → item-centric can work. Mostly new quotes → job-centric.
